American culture
Today I got to go to school! Off to an American school, meet a few of the teachers and got to be thoroughly amused at all the stereotypical American school things you see on television, lockers, hallways, desks… it’s all true, people. It’s all true. On the way to school Anastasia’s side mirror was smashed off by some lady driving too far across. While I was at school, I met Roxanne, a friend of Anastasia’s, and another friend named Robbie, who apparently looks like a young version of some guy from a TV show about custom motorcycles. I finished all of the web changes for work while Anastasia was at the doctor getting her back x-rayed: she’s got a bad back. Put the film in my camera finally (Leith’s a dumbass and hasn’t taken any pictures yet) and snapped a couple of test photos of my room. I then went to the biggest American culture of all: football. Monday night football! Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs New York Giants in a stadium holding approximately 80,000 people. A life size pirate ship complete with working cannons that fired things into the crowd, sails, crew and a big skeleton with glowing eyes on the bow. Most definitely a highlight!! Thousands of screaming fans, the place was almost packed, even on a Monday with work in the morning. Lots of painted, drunk and screaming hordes. You go for the game in Tampa evidently, but it is the massive crowd and the incredible atmosphere that makes the game. A late night tonight.
