Catch up (not ketchup)
Wow, I actually managed to get some sleep. I’m liking that and hoping that it’ll stay back in the sleeping mode. Anyway, today I didn’t have any classes so I had some time to see if I could catch up on my email and get myself back up to speed. I did some email, talked to Anastasia for a bit, had a nice long shower (boy did that feel good to just relax my muscles a bit), then rang the CSE department about my mystery course. I’ve been enrolled in this course for two weeks, and the time and place is still “TBA” in the time schedule. Apparently since it’s a seminar-based assessment, it doesn’t necessarily conform to the quarter time schedule. However, given that my lecturer has been unresponsive to my email, I’m hoping they can find something out. They’ve said they’ll look into it.
I was going to meet up with Marisa today, but she ended up with a bit too much on and she’s going away for the long weekend so I’ll catch up with her next week. I then talked to Anastasia for quite a while, it was good to talk to her. It’s weird, I haven’t been away from Florida for all that long, but it already feels like an age. You’d think after being apart for a year, I would be able to handle a couple of months just fine. Nope.
Anyway, I went and had some dinner at the Thai place that Kyung took me to the other day. A pleasant dinner, this time I had some spicy chicken and cashew dish. Pretty nice. ^^
Went back to the apartment, did a whole bunch more emails, talked to Anastasia again, talked to Jess and helped her set up Skype on her computer. A bunch of her friends were over at her place because it was her birthday today. Happy Birthday, Jess!
Hm, on that note, I left my diary back in New Zealand so I don’t have pretty much anyone’s birthdays any more. I think I can remember my immediate family and a few other people’s, but if I forget your birthday, I’m really sorry. Anyone who knows me knows I can barely remember my own birthday let alone anyone else’s. If you’d like me to remember your birthday later in the year, please email me the date, because chances are I’m going to forget, and I do like to send people happy birthdays and think of them when the time comes.
Anyway, Jess and her friends then chatted to me over Skype, testing out Skype’s new video. They certainly looked like they were having fun, although there were some issues with Jess’ speakers so I was only really available on the headset. After a while they went off to the International House Of Pancakes and I went back to blogging.
I then before I went to sleep I watched Stargate, which is a movie that I really like. I also like the spin-off television series (how do you pluralise series?) Stargate SG-1 and Stargate: Atlantis. Ah, I’m such a geek.
