Working on and off

working-on-and-off

Well to kick off today I talked to Anastasia and Jess a whole bunch. I left a note on Kyung’s door about when we were going to go get groceries, as we knew Aidan wasn’t going to be coming already.

After that, I did lots of work. I need to sort out which days are going to be work-days, and Saturday is looking like a good candidate at this stage. Friday too, I guess. We’ll see how that goes.

Silly me, because I was somewhat engrossed in the work I was doing, it wasn’t until mid-afternoon that I realized (by checking their website) that I had left it too late to go and post my acceptance forms for my scholarship. This means that I won’t be able to do it until Tuesday, because Monday is a public holiday here.

Aidan came in and handed me my sadly-wrong-editioned textbook, which Greg had dropped off for me (I had no other address than his at the time of ordering the book), so thanks Greg for dropping it off. Now I have two textbooks… I guess I’ll eBay the version I don’t need or something?

I went down to Subway for dinner, and I misjudged what time I thought it was… this meant that if I’d waited about 5 or 10 minutes before ordering, I would have saved myself about NZ$6 or $7… ah well. Lesson learned. I had a foot and a half of sandwiches and a good chat with the guy on the counter, who was pretty cool.

Back to the apartment for more emails and more work (and a note saying we’d do the groceries tomorrow from Kyung). After working some more, I talked to Anastasia for a bit, did a bit of research for a friend into the specifics of same-sex relationship laws and ages of consent… they don’t make it easy to find, that’s for sure. I emailed some people at the law offices as well to see if they could be more helpful.

More work, only one blog entry tonight (I’ll catch up eventually, I’m sure), chatted to some people on MSN and listened to some music, then I went to bed. Not exactly the pinnacle of interesting days, as it was mostly taken up with work.
