A graphics dominated day

Well, today had a bit of a late start, so no going to the FIUTS international free lunch for me. Ah well.

Next up was Computer Graphics, which continues to be an interesting course. I stayed afterwards to discuss some code with Rob and Jon (another guy in my class), and arranged to possibly hook up with Rob an hour or so later.

Next I went and paid FIUTS their money for the homestay (and membership), which was all good, I managed to find their office and everything. I forgot to ask them about the Language Partner programmes though… I’m hoping that they can hook me up with some people and I can practice (and maybe improve) my Japanese while I’m here.

I had a slice of pizza and a drink and wrote some emails in at the HUB, then headed back to my apartment to get my power cables for my laptop. Rob then came and picked me up and we went to Zoka to work on the graphics assignment for a few hours. After that it was back to my apartment for… yes, more work on my assignment. Ah, university.

At eleven-something I head out again, this time up the Ave to meet up with Jared from the ISO, whom I had been in communication with while I was in New Zealand, and had been most helpful. I had some nachos as a late dinner and we talked about general stuff and acclimatization.

When I got back I had an email bill from HFS for food money on their dining programme… I really should have looked at that more closely, I probably could have saved some money, or at the very least deferred the cost until later when I actually had the money. Yeesh.

Anyway, after that I added the final required brush to the graphics assignment then proceeded to do the readings for class tomorrow. I went to bed, didn’t really get to sleep and spent a lot of time looking at the ceiling before finally getting to sleep.
